Our picks for School Valentine's from Pinterest

Do you make handmade Valentines? If you don't, please don't sweat it. I only make them because I usually have the basic supplies ready to go, and Pinterest makes it so easy to find free printables. Some years I design my own printables, but then other times you just have to know when to let go and let others do it for you! The hardest part was picking out of all the amazing ideas!

Here's what inspired us from Pinterest this year for non-candy Valentines.

Star Wars is always a winner for my son to give to his Kindergarten class. {We just started watching the movies with him.} Besides card stock, ink and hole punch, I found glow sticks and washi tape at Michaels.

There tons of these Star Wars printables out there. I just thought this one was well-designed, although others might not require as much ink.

Preschool Valentine's made simple because what kid doesn't love their own balloon? We went with red balloons for my 3-year-old's class, again, from Michaels. And more washi tape!

And finally, something for their teachers. If I had more time, I'd look for fancier teas, but I just raided my pantry for tea bags to match the red design. Easy peasy! {I attached these with double sided craft tape and will put them in a flat clear back.}

{Thumb} Body Loves You + Freebies Part 2 {Printables}

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

So it's exactly one week until Valentine's Day and our cards to our family are already in the mail!
(I just might have stayed up until 12:30 a.m. to put the finishing touches on them.) We took advantage of a snow day to be a little crafty (and a little messy). After doing a little web searching I came up with an idea, changed it around a bit, and ended up with this.

Aren't my boys' thumbs so cute?!

I created the words in Photoshop. Then printed this on my Canon color printer. The boys of course helped with the most important part, and yes, #2's hands looked a bit bloody by the end. Then I cut out the scalloped edge matting on patterned paper with my Silhouette Cameo. Some arms, legs, a face, a little glue and it's done!

Valentine's Freebies, Part 2

This time I'm making both of these 5x7 {Love}ly Art Prints available to for you to print at home. (Each PDF contains three color options.) What a great gift to include with your kids' Valentines to a grandparent, teacher or neighbor! I've really enjoyed coming up with these designs this month and hope you enjoy them too!

{Both are available as an 8x10 print in my shop.}

Love, Erin

Are you ready for Easter?

I wish I could say that I spend more time preparing for Easter than I actually do. It tends to sneak up on me. This year my excuse is that there's still snow on the ground and my son's birthday falls the weekend before Easter. I can really only handle one thing at a time and the fireman birthday party comes first!

That said, I really do look forward to Easter! The snow is melted and Spring is on its way (well, maybe not this year, but one can hope!)... egg hunts ... Easter basket goodies ... Spring colors ... brunch ... coordinating dressy outfits for my boys ...

But most of all, I love the celebration at our church that takes place on Saturday evening and Sunday morning when we remember that Christ conquered death — and that makes all the difference!

I'm also looking forward to teaching our almost 3-year-old about Easter. I love the excitement that a preschooler has for learning new things. What will you be doing with your kids? Do you need some ideas? Valley put together some great Easter resources for families. We'll definitely be doing the Resurrection Eggs this year!

And finally, here's a free printable for decorating your home this Easter. All you have to do is download, print, trim and put in a cute frame. It's really that simple!

I love linen card stock, so that's probably what I will print mine on — the same card stock that I use for all the prints in my Etsy Shop. (I promise it will go up on our mantel just as soon as our little boy's fireman birthday party is over!)
